Street children statistics in Philippines

Base on 2012 statistics that the approximate number of street children in the different region in the Philippines are :

1. Luzon regional totals: 22, 728 (estimated total)
2. Visayas Regional totals: 40, 860 (estimated total) 
3. Mindanao Regional totals: 138,328 (estimated total)

And approximately 70% of the children are boys.

According to the survey, there are three types of street children: Children on the streets make up approximately 75% of the street children in the Philippines. They work on the streets but do not live there. They generally have a home to return to after working, and some even continue to attend school while working long hours on the streets. Children of the street make the street as their homes. They make up 25%-30% of the street children in the Philippines. They usually create a sort of family with their fellow street children. Some of them still have family ties, but do not visit them and some even see these ties as bad. Completely abandoned children have no family ties and are entirely on their own for physical and psychological survival. They make up approximately 5%-10% of the street children in the Philippines.

Solutions for Street Children's

Now we have to find out how we can solve the case of our street children’s. How we can remove these kids in the street. The following recommended solutions for street children's. 

·         We have to give them education. Education is the most powerful key to bring the street children’s back to our society and help them build their future. All we need a facilities, volunteer teacher who are willing to commit, trained and teach these street children’s for the improvement contents of the subject being taught and some approaches that could follow to make education, child friendly.

·         Home. If we can give a place or home where they are going to leave, they were no longer going to the street.

·         Foods. If we can give them foods, these street children were no longer going to stay in the street and ask money or foods for their meals.

·         Playground. If they have a playground on the place where they live, their mindset will change and they will enjoy their childhood.

Now, to carry out these resolutions we need volunteers and financial support. We need the support of the following.

      ·         Volunteers who are willing to commit and take care of them.

      ·         Government

      ·         Non Government Organizations(NGO)

      ·         People who willing to offer their financial, moral and material support.

If above mentioned, will work and help each other we were no Longer see a street children’s who are sleeping on the sidewalk, under the bridge and other public places and this will give a big impact to our government and to our country if we can resolve these problem.

Why there are Street Children's?

Nowadays, we have heard that there are so many children's foundation. Their mission is to help those less fortunate children’s, those children who are abandoned by their parents. We have also our DSWD who are in-charge for the children’s protection. Yet, all of these agencies and organizations are not enough, as we still have seen so many street children’s wandering around the street asking for food and shelter. One of the well-known City in the Philippines where I live. When you go around the entire town you will see those children’s in the street. Children's who are  living on the street face the continues prospect of physical, verbal and sexual abuse from adults. The government and environment problems associated with street children extend beyond the plight of the children themselves.. In the future, street children's end up unskilled and jobless, most often resorting to crime.

Way of Survival

The worst thing I saw are those children’s who are taking rugby’s, those children’s having sexual intercourse at their young age, those children’s who are fighting, those children’s who are engage in robbery in order to survive. To whom we can blame this? Yes, we can say that we can blame their parents as they did not take care their kids, they did not guide them and love them.  Will, we cannot say that their parent’s did not love them. All parent’s love and care their children’s, however there are so many reasons why their parents were not able to take care their children’s.  First psychological problem, Second, financial problem, Third, uneducated parents who are also born in the street, Fourth, a victim of drug addiction, Fifth, both parents have AIDS/HIV or other common diseases and verbal, physical, and sexual abuse .  All these reasons are the main causes why we have seen so many street children’s.  Now, who is going to help these children? The most powerful agencies who can help these street children is our government. They must prioritize this issue and allocate an immense amount to provide education, home and shelter for this street children’s.

The infinite Love of GOD to us specially to our Children

The passage today from the book of  Matthew 19:13-15, God shows how he cares and love our children, we should pray and we shall not hinder our children's in coming to Jesus, but what we have seen now in our surroundings especially those street children's who lacks of  care and love from their parents. These children are most welcome in the kingdom of God as they are all innocent. However, this children's have been influence in wrong doing in their surroundings. Once they will see on what their neighbors doing to survive, they are going to follow on it. As we all know that children's are all curious specially if they will see a thing which is new to their eyes and they are going to try it without knowing that it is bad and it can bring them into an addiction .

They do not know if it is bad because their parents are not there to guide them, care them and love them. Because they are an abandoned children's and we called them street children's. These children must be guided by the help of our Government. They should save this children's, provide shelters and education. We will hope and pray that our Government Officials specially all lawmakers will make a resolution to help these street children. We will also pray that those people who has the capability to help  and spend their own money to save this street kids.

The Street Children's

 In genesis Noah's time, God saw the world the fullness of violence and He showed to Noah and said"  I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. So make yourself an ark of cypress and wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. and He also tells Noah how they were going to build the ark and Noah did what God commanded him. Then the punishment has come and God said to Noah, Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation. Take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and one pair of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate, and seven pairs of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth. Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creäture I have made. After 40 days Noah's open the door of his ark and God blessed them and said "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth".

Noah's and his family did what God said to them, and this is the start of the new generation which our late Grandparents Abraham and the other was born and showed their faith to God. Until now the multiplication of his people and the other creatures on earth continued. Now, when I look around I  was so upset when I saw the people did not take care the creations of God, especially the children's in the street. Their parents did not take care of them, some mother will conceive a child after they give birth they will just leave their children in the street like a dog. This reality makes my heart bleeds and I only wish and pray that I can help them. I can help those children's in the street who are abandoned by their parents. These children need guidance in order for them to realize how wonderful the world is. These children's must be guided in order for them to know what is their purpose and why they are on earth. This children's must stop their awful actions such, taking rugby's, stealing, prostitution and etc. This will happen in the children's which do not have a parental guidance. Nobody cares them and in order to survive they will do their best to find shelter. All this thing makes me feel so much impair, these children will be the hope of our nation but what our government did, they did not care the street children's. When God said, "Go to the earth and multiply". This command implies that we have to multiply and take care the products of our multiplication and God will take care of us also as we are HIS son's and daughter but what we did, we did not care those children's in the street, we let them do the things which is not  acceptable in the sight of God. So, the government must take action and make a law which protect and help all the street children.

Look at these kids, if you were a human you should feel like what I feel.
